Oh what a day!!! A combination of Strategy and Social Business! SMF (Strategic Management Forum) and YSBC collaborated to produce a great event on the foundation day of Strategic Management Forum. One of the founders of the Strategic Management Forum and the Chairperson of YSBC, Prof. Arun Sahay, set the ball rolling by explaining the umbilical relationship between strategy and entrepreneurship. He explained how the corporate and Business strategy is shifting focus to society from the tradition view of maximizing profit. We witnessed teams from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Great Lakes Institute of Management and Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) participating to present their social business idea. I deeply thank each team for making it to the event. Sanjeev Kumar, Debika Goswami and Rina Sinha, our esteemed Jury members, spared their precious time to be here with us today and share their experience, insights, suggestions and feedback with students that enlightened the students about both strategy and entrepreneurship. It was truly a day of comradeship, community engagement, more awareness on social business and it was very heartening to see how optimistic is youth about the potential of social business idea which serves not only the immediate stakeholders and beneficiaries but society in general. The spirit should carry on! The torch should keep burning. With the determination to keep striving to create a more socially strengthened value driven society, we are glad that you are there with us.

The event was student driven; they did a fabulous job where Prof. Saloni Sinha and Prof. Reeti Kulshreshtha played a key rule. The icing on the cake was done by the Chairperson, Prof. Arun Sahay with his depth of understanding summing up in one sentence, “Entreprenurship without Strategy has no root and Strategy without Entrepreneurship has no fruit.
